I know the point of this post was to show what Drupal is capable of, but before anyone considers actually creating a Reddit clone in Drupal, they should take a look at https://github.com/ernestwisniewski/kbin. That's the PHP/Symfony based ActivityPub solution driving kbin.social, but anyone can spin up their own instance. Anyone familiar with Drupal will be able to customize Kbin's Twig templates.
